Jingang Knot is perhaps the most popular knot now in mainland China for braiding bracelets, because it is said to have magical power to protect people from the evil and danger. Many red string bracelets are made with this Jingang Knot. People believe this knot can keep them safe.

Here’s the tutorial:

1. Use two cords to tie Jingang Knots. Curve the yellow cord around the red one.
2. The red cord goes around your left index finger and through the yellow loop.
3. Now you have a red loop on your index finger like this.
4. Tighten the yellow loop.
5. Flip it over. Now you see the red loop on top.
6. The yellow cord goes around your left index finger and through the yellow loop.
7. Tighten the red loop.
8. Flip it over in the same direction of step 4, and repeat the previous steps over and over again.
9. You can make continuous Jingang Knots like this!
